About Rock Loc

Hey there! I’m Roberto De Biasi, and I’ve been working as an English-to-Italian translator since 2016, with a focus on game localization since 2019. My love for languages started with video games—it was playing and then replaying them in different languages that sparked my curiosity. It all began with Sonic the Hedgehog on the Sega Mega Drive, but I soon became a dedicated PC gamer, diving into classics like Warhammer: Shadow of the Horned Rat and Age of Empires.

In 2009, I moved from Southern Italy to Rome to study at “Sapienza” University, and while I explored new passions like audiovisual translation, my love for games, literature, manga, and anime stayed strong. After gaining experience translating TV shows, movies, novels, and short stories, I found my true calling in game localization—combining my passion for languages and gaming into a career that’s been a blast ever since!
